Tooth Colored Fillings
Tooth-colored fillings are composite restorations that can restore decayed teeth, close gaps between teeth or replace fractured portions of teeth. These restorations are natural-looking and can be quite durable when used in small or medium sized areas.
Teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure that restores brightness to teeth, producing potentially dramatic results. It is one of the fastest and easiest ways to improve your smile. We offer in-office whitening and take-home whitening. Dr. Wilburn will help you choose the best option for your needs.
Smile design is a process to improve the appearance of your smile. Models of your teeth and digital images will guide us as we discuss how to produce the smile you have always wanted. Smiles can be improved through bonding, crowns/veneers, reshaping gum tissue, reshaping hard tissue and orthodontics. Often a combination of these procedures is needed to achieve the desired goals of our patients.
A veneer is a thin layer of restorative material placed over a tooth surface to improve the aesthetics of a tooth or protect a damaged tooth surface. Composite and dental porcelains are the two main types of material used to fabricate a veneer. A composite veneer may be directly placed or indirectly fabricated by a dental technician in a dental laboratory and then bonded to the tooth. In contrast, a porcelain veneer may only be indirectly fabricated in a dental lab and later bonded/cemented to the tooth. Veneers can fill in gaps, change shade of teeth, and improve appearance of chipped or broken teeth.
At Columbia Family Dentistry, we restore dental implants. Dental implants are used to replace missing teeth, creating natural-looking restorations that can be treated like regular teeth. A crown is then placed on top of the implant. Dental implants are the best option for tooth replacement available. Patients must meet specific criteria for this procedure to be successful.
