Columbia Family Dentistry – Columbia, Tennessee
Comprehensive Care from a Dedicated Team
care you count on.
A healthy mouth starts with a good foundation and your family dentist in Columbia, TN, Dr. Lauren Wilburn, is here to help you achieve optimal oral health. We use the latest technologies and tools to perform several general dentistry procedures. Turn to our general dentist for everything from root canal therapy to tooth re-implantation. We are also available for emergency dental care visits.
Partial or complete dentures can replace natural teeth. They function just like your real teeth so they make it easier to speak clearly and chew food properly. Our general dentist offers custom dentures made of acrylic for natural-looking tooth replacement.
If a tooth cannot be saved because it is too damaged or is causing problems to other teeth, tooth extraction may be necessary. Turn to our family dentist in Columbia, TN, for virtually painless tooth extractions in the upper or lower jaw.
If your bite is out of alignment, you may be wearing down your teeth without even knowing it or setting yourself up for other oral health problems. Dr. Wilburn can perform a bite adjustment (occlusal adjustment) to eliminate jaw pain, neck pain, or symptoms of TMJ.
Oral Pathology Exam
We encourage all patients to come in for an annual oral cancer screening so we can check for any abnormalities, suspicious growths, or other oral health problems. Our team will perform an assessment and accurate diagnosis so we can create an appropriate treatment plan.

Preventing oral health problems is the key to a healthy mouth. We encourage patients to brush and floss their teeth regularly, keep up with their dental visits and call us immediately if they experience tooth pain or notice signs of an infection.
We may be able to save a tooth when it is knocked out of its socket with tooth reimplantation. This emergency dental procedure requires preserving the tooth the moment it is removed from the socket and having our general dentist reposition and replace the tooth shortly after.
Root Canal Therapy
When the inner tissues of the tooth become infected, the patient must undergo root canal therapy to clean out the infected pulp and restore the integrity of the tooth. Dr. Wilburn performs this relatively simple procedure under local anesthesia.
